MOSCOW, February 11. /TASS/. Overnight, air defenses destroyed and intercepted 40 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over five Russian regions, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported.
An industrial facility in the Saratov Region in southern Russia was damaged following a drone attack.
TASS has compiled key details on the impact of the attack.
Defense Ministry report
- Air defense forces on duty intercepted and destroyed 40 Ukrainian drones last night.
- Eighteen UAVs were downed over the Saratov Region, 13 over the Rostov Region, six over the Bryansk Region, two over the Volgograd Region, and one over the Belgorod Region, the ministry specified.
Impact
- A production facility in Saratov was damaged as a result of a drone attack, Governor Roman Busargin said. The ensuing fire has already been extinguished.
- Several commuter trains in the Saratov Region have been delayed for technical reasons, the Privolzhskaya Railway, a subsidiary of Russian Railways, said on its Telegram channel.
- Regional schools will operate as normal, the local government told TASS.
Restrictions on flights
- Temporary restrictions have been in place for the airports of Kazan, Kirov, Saratov, and Ulyanovsk, according to the Russian air transport regulator, Rosaviatsiya.
- Kazan, Saratov and Ulyanovsk airports resumed service at 8:30 a.m. Moscow time (5:30 a.m. GMT).
