Putin highlights need for more innovation in defense sector

The President specifically highlighted information exchanges between the units directly involved in Russia’s special military operation and defense companies

MOSCOW, December 16. /TASS/. New cutting-edge technologies and other innovations need to be introduced in the defense sector, Russian President Vladimir Putin said, addressing the Defense Ministry’s annual board meeting.

"We need to continue to do all we can to introduce cutting-edge technologies and other innovations in the defense sector," he stressed.

Putin specifically highlighted information exchanges between the units directly involved in Russia’s special military operation and defense companies, an innovation that was introduced some time ago. "As a result, it now takes only five to seven days to tackle deficiencies identified in certain weapons and equipment. However, this is not enough; we need to work even faster. There are some positive changes in terms of equipment repairs and adjustments based on combat requirements. However, there still are some problems and we need to keep addressing them," the Russian leader said.
