Implementation of common economic policy is top-priority task for Russia and Belarus

The two countries have not yet reached the level of self-sufficiency and independence of the association, where Belarus and Russia can perform long-term planning of their development and be protected from the external situation and various challenges, Lukashenko noted

MINSK, December 6. /TASS/. Implementation of the common economic policy is the paramount task for the Union State of Russia and Belarus, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said.

"I believe the top-priority task is to implement the common economic policy and provide for equality of rights of citizens in our union space," he said at the meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State of Russia and Belarus.

The two countries have not yet reached the level of self-sufficiency and independence of the association, where Belarus and Russia can perform long-term planning of their development and be protected from the external situation and various challenges, Lukashenko noted. "Tools of solving this task are clear: the coordinated industrial policy, common approaches to food security provision, the common energy market and the gradual achievement of technological sovereignty and rational import phase-out," he added.
