Senior diplomat urges US to rethink deploying missiles in Asia-Pacific

According to Sergey Ryabkov, over the last few months, said missile systems were sent to remote areas, exclusively for training

MOSCOW, November 27. /TASS/. Moscow urges the US to rethink deploying medium-range missiles in the Asia-Pacific, lest it cross a dangerous red line here, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov told RT.

"For several years now, we have been very open and outspoken about the dangers of deploying medium-range missiles of US manufacture in the Asia-Pacific," he said.

"We have not reached the point of no return. Once again, we call on those in Washington and those in capitals of the Asia-Pacific who are allied with Washington to stop and reconsider their decision," the senior diplomat stressed.

According to the deputy foreign minister, over the last few months, said missile systems were sent to remote areas, exclusively for training. "But, as usual, they were later deployed there. And their presence there becomes routine," the diplomat continued. "We must not tolerate such practices. We must counterbalance them. I am certain that our friends and allies in Asia will fully understand this action if and when it becomes necessary.
