UNITED NATIONS, November 9. /TASS/. So far, the UN Security Council has failed to achieve any progress on a Middle East-themed resolution authored by ten non-permanent members of the council, Russian First Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Dmitry Polyansky told reporters on Wednesday.
"As far as I know, there is none," he said, when asked by a reporter about whether any progress has been made on the issue.
In turn, China’s envoy to the United Nations, Zhang Jun, said that countries who keep rejecting the ceasefire proposal, "should think twice."
In October, four various draft resolutions on the Middle East conflict were brought before the UN Security Council. However, none of them was adopted. Currently, one more resolution is being drafted by the ten non-permanent members of the UN. It is expected to include a number of provisions from earlier versions.
