Central Election Commission is getting ready for 2024 presidential election

Ella Pamfilova stressed that at the moment one of the most important strategic tasks of the CEC was consistent efforts to increase voters' confidence in the elections and the electoral system itself

MOSCOW, January 20. /TASS/. Russia’s Central Election Commission, along with adressing day-to-day tasks, is already laying the necessary foundation for the 2024 presidential election campaign, the head of the CEC, Ella Pamfilova, said on Friday.

"Naturally, we are preparing. Can it be otherwise? Time flies by unnoticed. Everything that can be prepared now - the technical, digital, methodological, organizational and personnel resources - is being prepared. We are implementing this with a view to conducting the presidential campaign. We are perfectly aware what presidential elections will imply in the current conditions," Pamfilova told the media.

She stressed that at the moment one of the most important strategic tasks of the CEC was consistent efforts to increase voters' confidence in the elections and the electoral system itself.

"The better the people are informed on the basis of facts and reliable information about all electoral processes, the greater trust there will be," she pointed out.

Pamfilova also stressed that the Russian electoral system had good protection against DDoS attacks.

"For now, we are holding firm. The digital counterpart of the state electoral vote count system, GAS Vybory, which we are currently creating, is also autonomous from the worldwide web, which means it is absolutely invulnerable," she explained.
