MOSCOW, May 20. /TASS/. At the beginning of the main trading session on the Moscow Exchange, the MOEX index fell by 0.76% to 2,860.78 points, the dollar-denominated RTS index also went down by 0.76% to 1,120.71 points, according to trading platform data as of 10:00 a.m. Moscow time. The yuan-to-ruble exchange rate rose by 2.35 kopecks compared to the closing level of the previous one and amounted to 11.102 rubles.
By 10:20 a.m. Moscow time, the MOEX index accelerated its decline and was at 2,852.99 points (-1.03%), and the RTS index was at 1,117.66 points (-1.03%).
Meanwhile, the yuan rate accelerated its growth and amounted to 11.13 rubles (+5.1 kopecks).
The Moscow Exchange index with an additional code (IMOEX2) at the opening of the morning trading session fell by 0.64% and was at the level of 2,864.3 points, according to the trading platform data at 07:00 a.m. Moscow time.
The Moscow Exchange has suspended trading in dollars and euros since June 13, 2024, due to the US sanctions imposed against it and the National Clearing Center. To determine the dollar and euro to ruble exchange rates, the Bank of Russia uses bank statements and information from over-the-counter trading.
