Construction of third stage of Eastern polygon preliminarily estimated at over $40 bln

The preliminary cost of the project has increased as the carrying capacity of the Eastern polygon has risen to 270 mln tons, Valentin Ivanov noted

MOSCOW, March 29. /TASS/. The preliminary cost of upgrade of the third stage of the Eastern polygon is estimated at 3.7 trillion rubles ($40.1 bln), Russia’s Deputy Transport Minister Valentin Ivanov told reporters.

"Preliminarily [the cost is estimated at - TASS] 3.7 [trillion rubles]," he said.

The preliminary cost of the project has increased as the carrying capacity of the Eastern polygon has risen to 270 mln tons, the official added.

Ivanov said in February that the upgrade of the third stage of the Eastern Polygon was preliminarily estimated at 2.7 trillion rubles by the end of 2032.
