Senior NATO commanders pay unannounced visit to Ukraine

Italian Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone said that the visit had been aimed "to reaffirm unwavering support for Ukraine"

BRUSSELS, October 7. /TASS/. All senior military commanders on NATO’s Military Committee paid a clandestine visit to Ukraine on October 6, Italian Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone said.

"With the whole NATO Military Committee, we visited Kiev, yesterday, to reaffirm unwavering support for Ukraine," the admiral, who chairs the Committee, posted on X as he shared a picture of him shaking hands with Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian army Mikhail Drapaty.

Earlier, the North Atlantic Alliance announced plans to arrange such a visit but its timeframes and agenda were never revealed.
