WASHINGTON, February 15. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump has said that tariffs on imported cars are planned to be imposed around April 2.
"Maybe around April 2," he told reporters when asked when auto tariffs might be coming.
"I would have done them on April 1, believe it or not. I'm a little superstitious. No, literally, we had it planned for April 1. I said, ‘let's make it April 2.’ Do you know how much money that costs? That costs a lot of money just that one day, but we're going to do it on April 2," Trump said.
On January 31, the US leader announced plans to impose tariffs on supplies of semiconductors, oil, gas, steel, aluminum, and copper to the country, though he did not specify which states might be affected.
Earlier this week, Trump gave instructions to impose tariffs on all imports of steel and aluminum to the country in the amount of 25%.
