White House spokeswoman evades question on nuclear weapons for Ukraine

At a regular news conference, Karoline Leavitt was asked about Vladimir Zelensky’s demand to give Ukraine nuclear weapons

WASHINGTON, February 12. /TASS/. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt evaded a question about the option of arming Ukraine with nuclear weapons.

At a regular news conference, she was asked about Vladimir Zelensky’s demand to give Ukraine nuclear weapons.

"I have not talked to President Trump about Ukraine's NATO membership or their nuclear capabilities. I would leave it to him to discuss but I will tell you again that Secretary Rubio and also the Vice President JD Vance will be meeting directly with <…> Zelensky in Munich on Friday," she said.

Zelensky previously said that the West should give Ukraine nuclear weapons and send its troops to the country if it denied Kiev NATO membership. The US president’s special envoy for Russia and Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, said on Fox News that Ukraine's chances of obtaining nuclear weapons again were slim to none.
