Zelensky serves as a cover for Western warmongers’ corrupt schemes — opposition politician

Viktor Medvedchuk argues that Vladimir Zelensky has no intention of ending the conflict.

MOSCOW, February 12. /TASS/. Vladimir Zelensky is seen by Western warmongering factions as a cover to conceal widespread corruption, according to Viktor Medvedchuk, the leader of the Other Ukraine movement and former head of the banned Opposition Platform - For Life party in Ukraine.

"The warmongering factions in the collective West need Zelensky as a distraction to hide corrupt schemes that are not only shameless but also extensive and are increasingly being exposed to the global public. The architects of these schemes understand that Zelensky will never agree to a peace deal, as it would not only mean a political downfall for him but also serve as a verdict for his numerous crimes against the Ukrainian people," Medvedchuk wrote in his column on the media platform Smotrim.ru.

The politician argues that Zelensky has no intention of ending the conflict. "He clearly shows a desire to continue it indefinitely, clinging to power and profiting from substantial Western aid. This is evident in the widely circulated narrative that Zelensky cannot be replaced or criticized," Medvedchuk noted.

Since Russia launched its special military operation, Ukraine’s Western partners have consistently increased arms deliveries and announced new aid packages for Kiev. On February 2 of this year, Zelensky stated in an interview with the Associated Press that he had no idea where the $200 billion allocated by Washington in military aid had gone. If he is to be believed, Ukraine has received only over $75 billion from the US. At the same time, Washington is seriously considering reclaiming the funds spent on supporting Kiev from Ukraine's resources. US President Donald Trump's national security adviser, Mike Waltz, has confirmed this. Additionally, The New York Post reported on Trump's intention to negotiate a $500 million agreement with Ukraine to gain access to rare earth metals and gas in exchange for security guarantees as part of any potential peace settlement.
