Palestine’s authorities suspend Al Jazeera broadcasting in its territory

The management of Al Jazeera has not yet commented on this decision of Palestinian authorities

CAIRO, January 2. /TASS/. The Palestinian National Authority (PNA) suspends broadcasting of Qatar’s Al Jazeera television in the territory of Plaestine, with the statement to that effected released by the WAFA news agency.

The decision on the temporary ban for the TV channel broadcasting was made by a committee consisting of employees of the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Telecommunications, the news agency said. In their opinion, Al Jazeera "repeatedly broadcast reports of provocative nature and spread unreliable information and calls for uprising against the PNA," WAFA informed. The committee treated such actions as meddling in internal affairs of Palestine and violation of laws effective in its territory. The activity of the TV channel’s office in Ramallah will be frozen and reporters working there will have their accreditation recalled.

The management of Al Jazeera has not yet commented on this decision of Palestinian authorities.
