HELSINKI, December 17. /TASS/. It is premature to talk about any peacekeeping mission to Ukraine, Finnish President Alexander Stubb said before a meeting of the Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) in Tallinn.
He urged to approach the issue of a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine with caution without rushing into it, reiterating that such missions are frequently based on international law, require a UN mandate and a clear-cut peaceful settlement.
Following the meeting, Stubb told Finnish reporters that Helsinki will host a JEF meeting in 2026.
The UK-led Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) was formed in 2014 and does not constitute regular troops. The alliance which also includes Denmark, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Finland, Sweden and Estonia periodically holds joint drills.
