Belarus aims for good-neighborly relations, but will protect sovereignty at all costs

Alexander Volfovich noted that border security and other structures are ready to protect the sovereignty, territorial integrity and constitutional order of the republic

MINSK, December 13. /TASS/. Belarus hears a lot of aggressive rhetoric coming from abroad ahead of the presidential elections in the republic and will not tolerate any attacks on its sovereignty, Belarusian Security Council Secretary Alexander Volfovich said during his visit to the Belarusian-Ukrainian border in the Brest Region.

"We have no intention of carrying out aggression against our neighbors, regardless of whether it is Ukraine, Poland or the Baltics - on the contrary, we advocate good-neighborly relations. But we will protect and defend our territory. Especially considering the various claims made in the West that the government must be overthrown by force, that some extremist groups must be sent here, that the state border must be crossed," he said, according to the press office of the Belarusian State border security committee.

Volfovich noted that border security and other structures are ready to protect the sovereignty, territorial integrity and constitutional order of the republic.

The presidential election in Belarus is scheduled for January 26, 2025.
