BERLIN, November 13. /TASS/. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz called for doing everything to prevent the conflict in Ukraine from escalating.
"We still need to support Ukraine, and we still need to do everything to ensure that there is no escalation of this war. And this is the challenge we are facing," he said in a speech in the Bundestag.
According to Scholz, Ukraine should have "good prospects" and not be left alone. He said no decisions can be made about Ukraine behind its back.
"It can rely on our country and our solidarity," he stated.
"But I don't want by any means to hide the fact that, in my view, we will have to do everything in the near future <...> to make sure we do not become a party to the conflict," Scholz continued. "I emphasize that I still believe I did right to contribute to efforts that meant there was no escalation.".
