LONDON, November 13. /TASS/. The Ukrainian army is ready to abandon its position in Kurakhovo in the Donetsk People’s Republic due to the continuous Russian air and ground attacks, the Financial Times newspaper reported, citing a commander of one of the artillery units deployed there.
According to him, the Russian army is "attacking from three sides." He pointed out that he and his servicemen "are ready to pull back," "but we do not have the order from the top yet." The newspaper also said that Kurakhovo and Krasnoameysk (Ukrainian name: Pokrovsk), 40 kilometers away, are important hubs for the Ukrainian armed forces. Both cities suffered significant destruction, the Financial Times added.
On November 11, DPR leader Denis Pushilin reported that Russian forces were cutting off supplies to the Ukrainian group in Kurakhovo and encircling the town. The same day, top Ukrainian military commander Alexander Syrsky told Vladimir Zelensky that the Ukrainian army was in a difficult position in both the Kurakhovo and Krasnoamysk areas.
