Moscow court fines Zoom around $772,110

The company was fined for failing to comply with obligations established by Russian law governing the activities of foreign entities on the Internet

MOSCOW, October 7. /TASS/. A magistrate court in Moscow’s Tagansky District fined Zoom around 66 mln rubles ($772,110) for failing to comply with obligations established by Russian law governing the activities of foreign entities on the Internet, the Moscow City Court’s press service told TASS.

"By a ruling of a magistrate judge of Moscow’s Tagansky Judicial District dated October 7, 2026, [company] Zoom Communications, Inc. was found guilty of an administrative offense under Part 3 of Article 13.49 of the Russian Code of Administrative Offenses and was ordered to pay an administrative fine of 65,936,494 rubles," the press service said.

Since February 2021, Russia’s Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor) has regularly drawn up administrative offense reports against social networks and messaging services that failed to remove calls to participate in unauthorized demonstrations, including those directed at minors, as well as other information whose dissemination is prohibited in Russia.
