NOVO-OGAREVO, April 24. /TASS/. Russian banks scaled down business and retail lending during first months of 2025, President Vladimir Putin said at the meeting on economic issues.
"The credit portfolio of banks is declining from the year beginning. Thus, during the first three months, the volume of ruble loans to the business at the balance of banks contracted by 680 bln rubles ($8.2 bln). The volume of loans extended to individuals declined by 192 bln rubles ($2.3 bln)," the head of state said.
The contraction of the credit portfolio was leveled up for the economy in general by an increase in spending from the federal budget, Putin added.
