Russia, Oman to create intergovernmental commission

The delegations signed a protocol amending the agreement on trade, economic and technical cooperation

MOSCOW, April 22. /TASS/. Russia and Oman agreed to establish an intergovernmental commission on trade-economic and technical cooperation.

The relevant document was signed in conclusion of talks in the Kremlin. The ceremony was held with attending of heads of the two countries.

The delegations signed a protocol amending the agreement on trade, economic and technical cooperation. "The Contracting Parties establish a joint Russian-Omani commission on trade-economic and technical cooperation," the document indicates.

The commission will encourage and develop economic and technical cooperation between the two countries, look for new areas for interaction, promote ties between the private sector and small and medium enterprises and help with exchange of information in economic and investment spheres.

Regular meetings of the commission will be held alternatively in Russia and Oman once in two years within the period agreed through diplomatic channels.
