Ongoing Ukraine's attacks on Russia's energy facilities reveal Kiev's cynicism — senator

On Wednesday, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said that Ukraine continued its attacks on Russian energy facilities despite agreements to halt such strikes

MOSCOW, March 27. /TASS/. Kiev has clearly shown its cynicism and legal nihilism by continuing attacks on Russia's energy facilities despite the agreements reached to halt the attacks, Russian Senator Alexander Voloshin told TASS.

"Ukraine has once again demonstrated its absolute inability to negotiate and, I would say, irrational behavior given the change of foreign policy paradigm. <...> All these attacks speak eloquently about the sincerity of the Kiev regime's peaceful intentions. [It demonstrates] the ever-present cynicism and nihilism towards any legal framework or agreements. Now the current US administration sees it," the senator from the Donetsk People's Republic said.

On Wednesday, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said that Ukraine continued its attacks on Russian energy facilities despite agreements to halt such strikes. Novak pointed to the Ukrainian army’s ongoing attacks on smaller substations and gas pumping stations not related to the export of energy resources.

In particular, the Ukrainian army attacked the Svatovo gas metering station in the Lugansk People's Republic, the equipment of the Glebovskoye underground gas storage facility in Crimea, the Kropotkinskaya oil pumping station in the Krasnodar Region, energy infrastructure facility in the village of Kavkazskaya in the Krasnodar Region, and the Sudzha gas metering station in the Kursk Region.

On March 25, the Kremlin posted the list of Russian and Ukrainian energy facilities covered by a temporary moratorium on strikes against energy infrastructure approved by Moscow and Washington. The temporary ban is effective for 30 days starting on March 18 and can be extended by mutual agreement. Any violation of the moratorium on strikes against energy infrastructure in Russia or Ukraine by either side automatically renders the agreement void.
