Putin, Lukashenko satisfied with outcome of talks in Moscow — Kremlin

According to the statement, the decisions made and the significant package of signed joint documents will provide a crucial impetus for the further strengthening of the mutually beneficial Russian-Belarusian relations

MOSCOW, March 20. /TASS/. The presidents of Russia and Belarus, Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko, expressed their satisfaction with the outcomes of the recent negotiations held in Moscow, as well as the agreements signed between the two countries, the Kremlin's press service said following a telephone conversation between the two leaders.

"The results of Alexander Lukashenko's recent official visit to Russia were discussed. Both leaders expressed their satisfaction with the constructive and substantive nature of the negotiations," the Kremlin said about the conversation.

"The decisions made and the significant package of signed joint documents will undoubtedly provide a crucial impetus for the further strengthening of the mutually beneficial Russian-Belarusian relations and deepen allied integration," the leaders of both countries agreed.

Lukashenko's official visit to Moscow took place on March 13. The next day the leaders of Russia and Belarus met informally. The parties signed, among other things, an agreement on the right of citizens of the two countries to participate in local elections on the condition of permanent residence. In addition, several issues on the path of mutual integration between Russia and Belarus were agreed upon.
