DOHA, December 7. /TASS/. The state parties of the Astana format, represented by the foreign ministers of Russia, Iran and Turkey, called for an immediate halt of hostilities in Syria and implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 2254, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told reporters.
"We have clearly reaffirmed our commitment to UNSC Resolution 2254, first of all in the context of preserving the unity and territorial integrity of Syria, and with regard to the need to establish political dialogue," he said. "Of course, all this will only be possible if an end is brought to the current situation of the advancement of opposition forces, including Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (banned in Russia), on Syrian soil and the seizure of territories.".
