Ukrainian soldiers in Velikaya Novosyolka surrender when possible — captive

UGLEDAR /The Donetsk People’s Republic/, December 6. /TASS/. Troops from a Ukrainian battlegroup in the settlement of Velikaya Novosyolka surrender whenever possible, Alexey Sidorik, a captive serviceman from the separate presidential brigade of the Ukrainian armed forces, told TASS.

"Everyone wants to surrender; they can’t take it anymore. And everyone [in Velikaya Novosyolka] who can surrender does," the captive said.

According to him, his company had only 30 people left, "some of whom died, and some surrendered."

Alexey Sidorik, a native of the Lvov Region, was drafted in 2022. Several days ago, he surrendered to servicemen of Russia’s Battlegroup East in Velikaya Novosyolka following an assault by the Russian Armed Forces.
