Putin says ‘chaos and systemic crisis’ intensify in Western countries

According to Putin, the policy of the United States and its allies increasingly features the dangerous principle of "you're either with us, or against us"

SOCHI, November 8. /TASS/. Chaos and systemic crisis are intensifying in Western countries, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a plenary session of the Valdai Discussion Club.

According to Putin, the policy of the United States and its allies increasingly features the dangerous principle of "you're either with us, or against us."

"Chaos and systemic crisis are already intensifying in the countries that are trying to pursue this policy," he said.

According to the president, this "claim to exclusivity, liberal-globalist messianism, ideological and military-political monopoly" makes these countries wither, while pushing the whole world toward deterioration.

Such principles come into clear contradiction with the genuine interests of the United States and European states, Putin said.

"Sooner or later the West will realize this because its former great achievements have always been based on a pragmatic, sober approach based on a very harsh, sometimes cynical, but rational assessment of what is happening and on its own capabilities," he went on to say.
