UNITED NATIONS, February 23. /TASS/. Russia’s Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya has said that he refuses to listen to European representatives’ speeches at the UN Security Council meeting on Ukraine.

"I would like to warn in advance that I won’t listen to the European representatives’ ritual incantations. Let them show their eloquence to one another, polluting the broadcast with their hypocritical presentations," he said.

"I would like to remind you that none of the European Union counties and the West in general has ever come up with an initiative of convening even a single meeting [of the UN Security Council] on Gaza," Nebenzya said. "It speaks more than eloquently your hypocrisy and double standards."

Earlier, Russia’s First Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Dmitry Polyansky said that Western countries were preparing a "pro-Ukrainian coven" at the United Nations to mark the second anniversary of the special military operation. Polyansky said that there would be useless get-togethers where Western countries would practice anti-Russian rhetoric and commend the Kiev regime.
