Russia to use remote e-voting system in presidential election for first time

To vote on the remote electronic voting system, a voter must submit an application during a period that begins 45 days before election day and ends three days before the election (from January 29 to March 11)

MOSCOW, December 20. /TASS/. A remote electronic voting system will for the first time be used in Russia’s presidential elections set to take place on March 15-17, 2024, according to a decision made by the Central Election Commission.

Voters in 29 Russian regions will be able to cast their ballots remotely.

Online voting will be available in the city of Moscow and the surrounding Moscow Region, as well as in the Altai, Arkhangelsk, Belgorod, Chelyabinsk, Chuvash, Kaliningrad, Kaluga, Kamchatka, Karelia, Kursk, Lipetsk, Murmansk, Nenets, Nizhny Novgorod, Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Perm, Pskov, Rostov, Sverdlovsk, Tomsk, Vladimir, Vologda, Voronezh and Yaroslavl regions, Crimea and Sevastopol.
