Ministry to bring over 100 more Russian citizens evacuated from Gaza Strip to Moscow

"People at the Rafah border crossing are provided with basic necessities and food," the Russian Emergencies Ministry added

MOSCOW, November 23. /TASS/. A Russian Emergencies Ministry special airplane will bring to Moscow another 103 Russian citizens and their family members from the Gaza Strip, the ministry's press service told TASS.

"Another special airplane of the Russian Emergencies Ministry will bring to Moscow another 103 Russian citizens and their family members evacuated from the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone, including 47 children. The group is already headed in bus convoys to the Cairo airport to take a flight to Moscow," the press service said.

The Emergencies Ministry added that its task force, along with representatives of the International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO) in Egypt, was continuing to receive people passing through the border crossing point. "People at the Rafah border crossing are provided with basic necessities and food," the ministry added. Russian rescuers, psychologists and doctors provide them with all necessary medical and psychological assistance, food and water, and help them obtain the necessary documents in Cairo through the Russian Emergencies Ministry's crisis center. Furthermore, an interagency crisis center has been set up at Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport, where the evacuees are provided with warm clothing and food.

Emergencies Minister Alexander Kurenkov reported at Russian President Vladimir Putin’s meeting with cabinet members on Wednesday that work on the evacuation of Russian citizens from the Gaza Strip was being carried out by the ministry together with the Foreign Ministry, the Federal Security Service (FSB), the Interior Ministry, the Health Ministry and other federal executive bodies. According to him, more than 910 people have requested evacuation assistance, and 553 people, including 259 children, have been brought to Domodedovo airport by six flights arranged by the Russian Emergencies Ministry.
