Minsk participating in Moscow’s operation without sending troops to Ukraine — president

According to Alexander Lukashenko, Minsk’s primary goal is to "prevent the conflict from spilling over into Belarus"

MINSK, October 4. /TASS/. Minsk is participating in Moscow’s special military operation in Ukraine without sending its own troops to the country, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said on Tuesday.

"As for our involvement in the special military operation in Ukraine, we are participating in it. We don’t hide this fact. However, we aren’t killing anyone. We aren’t sending troops there. We don’t violate our obligations," Lukashenko stated at a meeting on military security, as cited by the BelTA news agency.

According to the Belarusian president, Minsk’s primary goal is to "prevent the conflict from spilling over into Belarus." "Another goal is to prevent Poland, Lithuania and Estonia from attacking Belarus, under the guise of the special military operation. As I have already said, no one will be allowed to shoot Russians in the back from the Belarusian territory. This is what our participation is about ," Lukashenko stressed.

He also noted that the Belarusians were providing medical assistance to those in need. "Yes, we are treating people. We have been providing medical treatment to those in need. Yes, we are feeding them, and not only Russians. We are mostly feeding refugees, the poor beggars who keep coming here from Ukraine, 400 to 500 people every day. How can you not feed and treat them? This is the way we are participating in the military operation and there will be no other way," the Belarusian head of state stressed.
