MANDALAY /Myanmar/, March 31. /TASS/. The risk of another earthquake happening in Mandalay persists, a member of the team of Russian rescuers on a mission to save people trapped under the rubble after Friday’s quake in the Myanmar capital told TASS.

"Yes, there are prerequisites for that today, but we are ready for any scenario," he shared.

Meanwhile, the Russian Emergencies Ministry has started to regroup its 120 rescuers in Myanmar to quake-hit Mandalay, the head of the ministry’s Combined Rescue Team, Sergey Vorontsov, told TASS.

A powerful 8.2-magnitude quake hit the Southeast Asian nation on March 28, claiming the lives of more than 1,700 people. Thailand, too, was affected. Tremors were also felt in China and Vietnam.
