Cybertruck explosion unrelated to pickup truck malfunction — Musk

All vehicle telemetry was positive at the time of the explosion, he added.

NEW YORK, January 2. /TASS/. The explosion of the Cybertruck near the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas was caused by fireworks or an explosive device but not by any truck malfunction, CEO Elon Musk said.

"We have now confirmed that the explosion was caused by very large fireworks and/or a bomb carried in the bed of the rented Cybertruck and is unrelated to the vehicle itself," Musk wrote on his page in the X social network.

"All vehicle telemetry was positive at the time of the explosion," he added.
