MOSCOW, December 10. /TASS/. An An-2 single-engine biplane with eight people on board made an emergency landing in northwest Siberia’s Yamal Peninsula; no casualties were reported, Russai’s civil aviation watchdog said.
"On the afternoon of December 10, an An-2 plane of the Mobil Avia air carrier made an emergency landing roughly one kilometer away from the Tambey airfield in Yamal. It had eight people on board: two crew members and six passengers," the Federal Air Transport Agency’s press service said in a statement.
"According to preliminary information, no one was harmed in the accident, but the aircraft was damaged," the statement says.
The Federal Air Transport Agency formally ranked the event as an air accident. It will be investigated by the Interstate Aviation Committee and the agency’s Tyumen office.
