Hungary expects MOL oil company to expand operations in Russia — Szijjarto

"Energy cooperation between Hungary and Russia has withstood the test of the most difficult times," the minister noted

BUDAPEST, March 26. /TASS/. Hungary considers the work of its oil company MOL in Russia successful, and it expects its operations to be expanded, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto said following talks with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak in Moscow.

"The upside is that output operations of MOL in Russia are very successful, which allows for expansion of its work in Russia," Szijjarto wrote on his Facebook page (Facebook is banned in Russia due to its ownership by Meta, which has been designated as extremist).

"Energy cooperation between Hungary and Russia has withstood the test of the most difficult times," he noted. "Despite all difficulties, we managed to retain the reliability of our country’s energy supply," the minister added.

"Thanks to reliability of our Russian partners Hungary, received a record volume of natural gas last year, while this year daily supplies will exceed 20 mln cubic meters. Oil is also supplied seamlessly; this year oil supplies will surpass 1.25 mln tons," he said.
