Putin praises results of EAEU leaders' meeting

The EAEU comprises Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan

IGORA /Leningrad Region/, December 26. /TASS/. The leaders of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries reached the necessary consensus on the issues discussed during their closed-door talks and agreed to continue their work, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced while opening a meeting of the expanded Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.

"We held closed-format discussions on current issues and reached the necessary consensus on them," the head of state said. "We adopted decisions where appropriate and agreed to continue work on some matters," Putin added.

The EAEU comprises Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. The leaders of these countries attended the closed-door meeting. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan joined the gathering via video link.
