Gazprom supplies 42.4 mln cubic meters of gas for Europe through Ukraine via Sudzha

The application for pumping through Sokhranovka was rejected by the Ukrainian side

MOSCOW, December 7. /TASS/. Gazprom supplies 42.4 mln cubic meters of gas per day to Europe via Ukraine to the the Sudzha gas pumping station in Russia’s Kursk Region. The application for pumping through Sokhranovka was rejected by the Ukrainian side, a Gazprom representative told journalists.

"Gazprom supplies Russian gas for transit through the territory of Ukraine in the volume confirmed by the Ukrainian side through the Sudzha station, 42.4 mln cubic meters as of December 7. The application for the Sokhranovka station was rejected," the company’s representative said. The day before, the pumping volume also amounted to 42.4 mln cubic meters.

Deliveries remain in the same volume, despite statements about the cessation of Russian gas flows by the Austrian OMV.

OMV previously reported that it had received a notice from Gazprom Export to stop gas deliveries under the Austrian contract as of November 16. This is due to OMV's decision to reclaim the 230 mln euro awarded by the arbitration court in a dispute with Gazprom Export as payment under the contract for gas supplies to Austria via Ukraine. The shortfall in deliveries under the contract to Germany, which was the reason for the dispute, occurred after the explosion of the Nord Stream gas pipeline and in connection with the inaccessibility of the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline due to sanctions.

The transit line through Ukraine remains the only route for Russian gas supplies to Western and Central European countries. Pumping through Nord Stream has been completely stopped. Gas supplies through TurkStream and Blue Stream are destined for Turkey and the countries of southern and southeastern Europe.
