MOSCOW, April 12. /TASS/. USM considers the sanctions imposed by the UK against the holding and its shareholders unreasonable and is going to challenge these restrictions to minimize the possible consequences, the press service of the holding told TASS.
"We consider the UK sanctions against the USM holding and its shareholders unfair and unreasonable. <...> We intend to challenge these restrictions and will make every effort to minimize their possible consequences," the press service said.
USM recalled that Alisher Usmanov has not been engaged in entrepreneurial activity for a long time, owns less than 50% of the holding and is not involved in its management.
Earlier it became known that the UK government added USM Holdings Limited associated with businessman Alisher Usmanov to the sanctions list. The British authorities also blacklisted the British companies Curzon Square Limited and Hanley Limited, allegedly associated with Usmanov.
USM is a diversified Russian holding company that owns and manages assets in metallurgy and mining, telecommunications, technology and financial services. The group's assets include Metalloinvest, Megafon, Udokan Copper and Akkermann Cement.
