Putin approves Russian-Latvian tax convention denunciation

In case the Russian side sends the notice of agreement denunciation by June 30, 2023, it will terminate from January 1, 2024

MOSCOW, February 28. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the law on denunciation of the intergovernmental agreement between Russia and Latvia on avoidance of double taxation and tax evasion.

The document was posted on Tuesday. The agreement was signed between the two countries on December 20, 2010.

Latvia notified Russia about suspension of the agreement last year. "Since the return of the Latvian side to performance of obligations within the framework of the agreement appears unlikely, the agreement should be denounced," the explanatory note to the law reads.

In case the Russian side sends the notice of agreement denunciation by June 30, 2023, it will terminate from January 1, 2024.
