Bank of Russia continues following floating ruble rate policy — Central Bank chief

The ruble rate movement has the different effect for various groups of economic agent, Elvira Nabiullina also noted

MOSCOW, June 10. /TASS/. The Bank of Russia continues pursuing the floating ruble rate policy, despite currency restrictions, Central Bank chief Elvira Nabiullina said on Friday at the press conference after the Board meeting.

"Despite the introduction of currency restrictions and so on, we follow the policy of the [ruble] rate floating within the framework of these restrictions," Nabiullina said.

The ruble rate movement has the different effect for various groups of economic agent, the chairperson added. "Certainly, it is determined at present to a greater extent by the current account, the ratio of export and import, and will be largely driven by that," Nabiullina noted.
