MOSCOW, May 20. /TASS/. Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has visited the Russian exposition showcased at the LIMA 2025 International Exhibition of Aerospace and Naval Equipment currently taking place in Langkawi, the Russian state-run arms dealer said.
"Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim of Malaysia has visited Rosoboronexport’s stand and viewed the Russian products on display," the state corporation said.
On Monday, Rosoboronexport announced plans to discuss opportunities for collaboration with Malaysia’s military and law enforcement agencies at LIMA 2025 which marks the company’s first participation in the event on Langkawi Island since 2019.
The Malaysian Armed Forces continue to operate Russian-made equipment, including aircraft, helicopters, and ground and air defense systems, purchased earlier, the corporation quoted its CEO Alexander Mikheyev as saying earlier. The Su-30MKM fighters, which form the backbone of Malaysia’s Royal Air Force, are maintained through the Russian-Malaysian Aerospace Technology System Corporation, a localized joint venture.
On Monday, the Pacific Fleet said that a group of its vessels, including the Rezky and Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov corvettes, had arrived on a business visit to the Asian country. The warships anchored in the outer harbor of Langkawi Island.
