MOSCOW, May 19. /TASS/. Russia’s leading weapons exporter, Rosoboronexport, is set to explore new avenues for collaboration with Malaysia’s military and law enforcement agencies during the upcoming LIMA 2025 International Exhibition of Aerospace and Naval Equipment in Langkawi. The company’s delegation will engage with representatives from Malaysia’s Ministry of Defense, security agencies, as well as public and private sector enterprises across the region, aiming to identify mutual cooperation opportunities and strengthen existing ties.
This marks Rosoboronexport’s first participation in LIMA since 2019, highlighting its renewed focus on Southeast Asia. The company’s press service emphasized that the event provides a strategic platform for fostering dialogue and expanding military-technical cooperation in the region.
Company CEO Alexander Mikheyev underscored Malaysia’s significance as a longstanding partner. Malaysia remains a key partner in Southeast Asia, Mikheyev stated. This military-technical cooperation has promising prospects for further growth.
He noted that the Malaysian Armed Forces continue to operate Russian-made equipment, including aircraft, helicopters, and ground and air defense systems supplied earlier. The Su-30MKM fighters, which form the backbone of Malaysia’s Royal Air Force, are maintained through the joint Russian-Malaysian Aerospace Technology System Corporation, exemplifying fruitful technological collaboration that Rosoboronexport is eager to expand further.
