MOSCOW, December 9. /TASS/. The Project 636.3 Ufa diesel-electric submarine of Russia’s Pacific Fleet and its rescue tug have called at the port in Qingdao in the People's Republic of China, the fleet’s press service reported.

"The Pacific Fleet diesel-electric submarine Ufa, escorted by the Alatau rescue tug, has conducted a business call at the Qingdao port of the People's Republic of China. Over several days in the Chinese port, the Russian sailors will hold a number of meetings with representatives of China’s People's Liberation Army [PLA] Navy, visit the Chinese PLA Naval Submarine Academy and local tourist attractions," the statement specified.

Earlier, the group of vessels consisting of the corvettes Gromky, Rezky and Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov and the tanker Pechenga of Russia’s Pacific Fleet completed its business call at the port of Qingdao. The Russian naval sailors participated in sports and cultural events. The warships’ commanders held meetings with the Qingdao administration and representatives of China’s Northern Theater Command Navy.
