MOSCOW, April 1. /TASS/. Militants of the Turkistan Islamic Party (outlawed in Russia) have made two attempts to advance into the area controlled by the Syrian government forces in the Idlib province, Rear Admiral Oleg Gurinov, deputy chief of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties in Syria, told reporters on Saturday.
"In Idlib province, militants of the Turkistan Islamic Party terrorist group made two attempts near Al-Dana and Jubas to break into the area controlled by government forces. A Syrian soldier was killed and another was wounded while repelling the militants’ attack," he said.
According to Gurinov, in the past 24 hours, four cases of shelling were documented in the Idlib de-escalation zone from the positions of the Jabhat al-Nusra and Turkistan Islamic Party terrorist groups (both banned in Russia). Two incidents occurred in the Aleppo province and the other two in Idlib province.
A Syrian soldier was killed in sniper fire opened on the government positions near Adjel in Aleppo province.
