Moscow says US command in Syria denied Russian forces corridor to evacuate refugees

Oleg Yegorov also said that the US-led "international anti-terrorist coalition" continues to block a joint humanitarian mission by the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Sides and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent to the Rukban refugee camp

MOSCOW, October 7. /TASS/. Head of Russia's Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Sides in Syria Major General Oleg Yegorov on Friday said the US command in Syria refused to provide a safe corridor to evacuate civilians, violating a UN Security Council resolution.

"The command of the US contingent refuses to provide a safe corridor for the evacuation of internally displaced persons, which directly violates 2015 UN Security Council Resolution No. 2254 on granting unhindered access for the immediate delivery of humanitarian assistance," he said in a statement.

Yegorov also said that the US-led "international anti-terrorist coalition" continues to block a joint humanitarian mission by the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Sides and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent to the Rukban refugee camp.

In addition, the Russian Defense Ministry said that one Syrian soldier was wounded in the province of Aleppo as a result of artillery shelling by terrorists.
