Syrian army dismisses charges of chemical weapons use in Idlib

Syria's human rights observatory claims an air strike which killed 58 might have been carried out by the Syrian government forces, which allegedly used toxic gas

BEIRUT, April 4. /TASS/. The Syrian army has not used chemical weapons in Idlib Province where, according to media reports, 58 people were killed in an air strike, Sky News Arabia said quoting a source in the Syrian armed forces as saying.

"We have not used chemical weapons so far, nor shall we use them in the future," the television broadcaster quotes the Syrian army spokesman as saying.

Earlier, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights claimed that an air strike in Idlib Province killed 58 people including eleven children. The Observatory claimed the attack might have been carried out by Syrian government forces, which allegedly used a toxic gas in the city of Khan Shaykhun, in the south of Idlib Province.
