Abkhazian presidential candidates sign agreement on public consent

SUKHUM, July 25. /ITAR-TASS/. Abkhazia’s presidential candidates signed an agreement on public consent on Friday. The Abkhazian Public Chamber prepared the document and submitted it for signing.

The presidential candidates — Aslan Bzhaniya, Leonid Dzapsha, Mirab Kishamariya and Raul Khadzhimba — said they “are ready to put maximum effort in ensuring the freedom of expression of people’s will and strengthening democracy and political stability in the country”. They called for “observing the norms of morality and professional ethics during the election campaign”.

The early presidential elections in Abkhazia are scheduled for August 24 due to the resignation of Alexander Ankvab, who was Abkhazia’s president from 2011.
