NEW YORK, December 13. /TASS/. The New York Times (NYT) claims that the conflict in Ukraine will most likely end next year.
According to the NYT’s Julian E. Barnes, 2025 will be "a year of negotiations," and Donald Trump’s victory in 2025 will serve to expedite the peace talks. The author points out that the president-elect wants the negotiations to begin "soon."
Previously, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia considers it possible to hold negotiations with Ukraine based on the Istanbul agreements, but Kiev is opposed to this, so Moscow continues on with its special military operation.
On June 14, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during the meeting with the Foreign Ministry board that a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict would be impossible without Russia’s participation and honest dialogue. Putin also named the preconditions for the settlement of the situation in Ukraine, including the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Donbass and Novorossiya, rejection of Kiev’s accession to NATO, withdrawal of all anti-Russian sanctions and cementing of Ukraine’s neutral, non-aligned and non-nuclear status.
