BRUSSELS, February 21. /TASS/. Representatives of EU member-states have extended all twelve sanctions packages currently in effect against Russia until the end of September 2024, a diplomatic source in Brussels said.
"Representatives made the decision on a six-month extension to sanctions for violating the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine," the source said.
The European Union has been extending sanctions against Russia every six months from their introduction in 2014. At this moment, the EU black list against Russia contains 1,800 individuals and companies of Russia, China, and certain other countries suspected by the EU as supporting Russia. The thirteenth package of sanctions, which will include about 200 more persons, will be introduced on February 24.
