Nicaragua offers condolences to Putin over deadly Ukrainian attack on Starobelsk

Co-Presidents of Nicaragua Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo noted that "the criminal Fascism seeks to promote evil and destruction"

HAVANA, May 26. /TASS/. Co-Presidents of Nicaragua Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo on Monday expressed condolences to the Russian head of state, Vladimir Putin, over the recent deadly attack on a college in Starobelsk by Ukrainian troops.

"On behalf of the <...> people of Nicaragua and on our own behalf, we express sincere condolences over the criminal attack on innocent students and professors in the city of Starobelsk in the Lugansk People’s Republic, perpetrated by Ukrainian fascists, whom we permanently denounce as criminals against humankind," Ortega and Murillo said in a message of condolences to Putin. "We are praying for you and for your nation, as well as for the families of those killed," they added. "The criminal Fascism seeks to promote evil and destruction," El 19 digital quoted the co-presidents as saying. "We condemn its atrocities, as we know that the power of the good will defeat them," they concluded.

The Ukrainian military launched drones at the academic building and dormitory of the Lugansk Pedagogical University’s Vocational College in the city of Starobelsk in the early hours of May 22. According to the latest official reports, 21 people were killed in the attack.
