Vietnam opts to join Games of Future in Russia, says Russian Deputy PM

MOSCOW, April 7. /TASS/. Vietnam has agreed to take part in the 2024 Games of Future tournament, a senior Russian sports official said on Friday.

"They have agreed to participate," Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, who oversees issues of sports, culture and tourism in the Russian government, stated.

"There are more than 18 million e-gamers in Vietnam alone, the country has strong cybersports teams. We invite them to join the Phygital movement," the Russian official stated.

"I am positive that Vietnamese teams will be able to represent the country at the Future Games with dignity and achieve great results, because interest in traditional sports such as soccer and cybersports is very high in this country," Chernyshenko added.

The first cybersport Games of the Future will be held in Kazan in 2024. The games feature the latest developments in the areas of cybersport, robotics, AR and VR technologies, information technology and Artificial Intelligence. The prize fund will be 25 million US dollars.
