Putin says Russian-Chinese ties reached unprecedentedly high level

KAZAN, March 23. /TASS/. Relations between Russia and China have reached an unprecedentedly high level, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated in his address to the participants in the sixth session of the inter-party dialogue between the United Russia political party and the Communist Party of China read out by Chairman of the United Russia Supreme Council, Boris Gryzlov.

"The Russian-Chinese relations have reached an unprecedentedly high level becoming a model of interaction between great powers in the modern world," the address reads.

Gryzlov told reporters that the participants in the meeting discussed the issues related to the respective parties’ current affairs. "The reports will give a fresh impetus to raising the efficiency of the parties’ work," he said.

During the meeting and the economic forum, the participants will discuss new ways and forms of developing the party systems, the auditing and personnel affairs. During the forum titled "Regional cooperation in harmonizing the Eurasian Economic Union and the New Silk Road project" is planned to discuss issues related to trade, investment policy, the establishment of a polymer production enterprise in Russia’s North Caucasus Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria, development of mutual tourism, small and medium-sized enterprises.

A delegation of senior officials of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee led by head of the International Liaison Department, Song Tao, and businesspeople from a number of Chinese provinces arrived in Kazan, a city in Russia’s Volga region, on March 21. Over the past two days, the delegations have held several meetings with local officials and the regional branch of the United Russia party on cooperation issues.
